Cove

Cove, built by Poyzer Sawyer and designed by Georgina Jeffries, transformed a multi-level coastal home in Queensland, drawing inspiration from Brazilian brutalism to create a robust yet minimalist aesthetic. Departing from traditional Queensland holiday home designs, the renovation emphasizes texture and form, utilising luxurious materials like richly veined Artedomus Viola marble and micro-cement wall finishes.

Key structural changes include replacing a noisy 1980s staircase with an elevator connecting four of the five levels, relocating the entrance for better flow, and reconfiguring the kitchen to establish a dedicated dining area. A notable feature is a large, tilting steel window that links the interior to an outdoor terrace.

The design seamlessly integrates indoor and outdoor spaces, with lush gardens and expansive areas that cater to both entertaining and relaxation. Throughout the home, custom rugs from Halcyon Lake add warmth and tactility, complementing the sophisticated yet restrained interiors.
